Tetouan Sania Ramel Airport (IATA code TTU) is the most direct entry point for Morocco''s Mediterranean coast. M''diq and Cabo Negro lie north-east of the terminal along Tamuda Bay.
Getting to the coast
- Shared (grand) taxi: the most common option from the terminal. The fare is agreed before departure and rises in peak summer.
- Hotel shuttle: many Tamuda Bay properties offer a transfer on request. Book it with the room.
- Rental car: the best fit if you plan to move between Martil, M''diq, Cabo Negro and Fnideq during your stay.
When a car pays off
The coast stretches over several dozen kilometres and the resorts are spread out. If you want a different beach, restaurant or day trip each day, a car saves stacking up taxi rides. For a static hotel stay, a return transfer is enough.
Seasonality
July and August concentrate most of the traffic: rental cars go early and taxi fares climb. Book ahead and allow extra time in the evening, when the coast road is busy.
